Preparing Variable Content

Wasup Sender retrieves variable information by reading an Excel file with specific formatting requirements. Before starting, you need to obtain the Wasup Sender Excel template:

1. Open the Wasup Sender popup.
2. Select the Create Campaign tab.
3. In the Send to section, choose the Import Excel tab and click Download Template at the top-right corner of the card to get the default Excel template.

The default Excel template includes the required field WhatsApp Number as well as default personalized variables such as First Name and Last Name. You can add custom columns in the Excel file to expand personalized parameters, such as “Order Number” or “Address.”

Note: Do not change the column order in the Excel file, as this may cause the extension to misidentify the information.

Adding Variables to Messages

1. Import the Excel File with Variables:
   • In the Send to section, choose the Import Excel tab and upload the Excel file containing recipient numbers and personalized data.
2. Insert Variables into Message Content:
   • After uploading the Excel file, all variables will appear as shortcut buttons at the bottom of the message input box.
   • Place the cursor where you want to insert a variable in the message content and click the corresponding variable button. The variable will be automatically inserted at the cursor position.

Message Template:

Hello, {{Name}}, your order {{Order Number}} has been shipped.

If the Excel file contains:

The audience will receive:

“Hello, Mike Smith, your order 12345 has been shipped.”

By using the personalized message feature, you can easily create customized messages in bulk, enabling more targeted and interactive communication with your audience, thus improving delivery effectiveness and user experience.
